The Breeze and I - Phil Kelly

Postby phil kelly » 06 Jan 2010, 23:07

Hi everyone,
my son now owning a laptop for fun recorded me playing one of my favourite tracks.
panned original rec to the left and added my guitar, its only on one side but it sounds reasonable, i think it sounds better off the monitor rather than headphones, no pre or post eq, just an sm57 in front of the 34 playing the sound,

Regards to everyone.

Hi Walt,
Yes, this is something i mentioned in the thread, i think it sounds better if you play it off the monitor, i need to speak to my son to see if it can be corrected, thanks for your comment though,
Regards,
Phil.

Phil....I'm sure it's easily correctable....probably by throwing a "switch" or something.
The sound was nice tho. I'd just focus on getting the other channel working. :D

Hi Guys,
Thankyou for the comments, my son is going to hopefully rectify the problem , Dave the gear is the same as the previous u tube clips , meazzi and ac34, save the guitar which is a stratocaster i recently put together, this one having a maple neck. The only difference being the Vox was miked this time which has captured to a degree the warmth that was lost somewhat when we used the camcorder and what you rightly noticed and commented on when listening to Wonderful land.
What you are hearing is the basic combination of Strat into Meazzi into Vox ac34 , no alterations with pre or post eq or additions such as compression etc .I think if my memory serves me right Bruce said this wonderful melody was recorded on the original strat, not sure of the amp, i wouldnt have thought it was the ac34 , but it seems to sound right for all of the early hits, even though other ac30 variants may have been used, so who knows ?
Best regards,
Phil.
