Walkin' in the Moonlight

Postby rogera » 13 Oct 2011, 15:01

Here's a fairly newly written guitar instrumental called "Walkin' in the Moonlight".
I liked the tune and feel of the number and hope that you enjoy it as much as I do.
I used my Strat and Q2 as usual - your thoughts would be appreciated.

Excellent Rog, great tone.
It always stops me dead when a 4/4 changes to waltz time, I never expect it.

Hi Roger,
Not one I've heard before but instantly likeable -As Ecca said the tempo changes takes you by surprise -
also like the subtle key change. Well played .
All the best.. Phil

Glad that you liked it Ecca and Phil - the middle eight certainly has a very different feel to it as compared to the verse and has a nice 'walking' bassline.

I sometimes get confused with timing but I don't think that it is 3/4 waltz time.

You're right Rog, it's more 6/8 swing.

Hi Rog
Well played, sir!
Excellent tune - very reminiscent of Lenny Clerwalls compo's.
Loved the sound of your guitar - would that be patch 30 on the Q2?
3/4 or 6/8 or even 19.05mm :D - the middle works very well with the tune and the transitions come and go nicely.
Loved it!
cheers

Glad to hear that you enjoyed it.

The composer is Lenny Clerwall so your feelings were accurate Ian. :)

Hi Rogera,

This one hits the right emotional string. It embodies the purity of the 50's era of which we are all fond of.
Excellent sound and playing.

Blessings,
Abel

Thanks for listening Lynn and Abel and of course for your replies.

Abel I'm glad to hear that you think it has the feel of the 50s (or 60s) - that's probably due in part to the tune itself.
