Thanks Brian, Charles, Ecca, Phil, Gary, Roger B, Bojan, George, Roger A, Lynn and Geoff for the kind comments.
I thought it was about time I put up a Shadows "classic".
Mad Fool that I am, I promised (threatened?) to play this with the Live Band at The Congleton Gig this Saturday coming so I’ve HAD to learn it.
Ecca of course is “King Of The Sausage” and that middle bit is the result of watching and hearing him play it many times at Hankies. If its wrong – blame Ecca!!!
The SF was literally done in two takes because Dinner was nearly ready and I CANT miss my Sunday Roast Dinner. As Charles attests in his post, Val’s Sunday Roasts are always Superb!
To get the tone, I used my little Ampworks on Bojans recommended “vintage” settings – they seem to work SO much better when recording than the tone that similar settings produce on my Vox VT60.
In Hindsight, maybe the Lead should have been a tad more forward, but what is done is done! It was Fun!!
Many thanks for the feedback.
Cheers
Ian.
