Good backing track - it could almost be mistaken for the record . . . . ;)

Hi Bri,
Unfortunately owing to the complex post processing used on the lead track it would unlikely that I can replicate the same sound on another track & make it work acceptably. Although I am satisfied with the end product (just), purists like myself would have to say that my interpretation of Hank leaves a lot to the imagination & although an halfway good sound like I have achieved would probably be best kept away from 'purist' forums like this one despite the kind words it has so far received.
If I could do another track before the old hands pack up entirely then I would like to do 'Apache' but only if I could approach the same sound Norrie, Malcolm & Hank & the boys managed to get on the original.
Bri I see you edited your earlier post regarding the original jono mcleary question I think it was but anyway if you could supply a link for the jono on spotify I would be grateful.:D

Hi Dave,
I am a big fan of yours, butt kissing aside, I have to say your rendition of The Savage (demo of WEM copicat Gold) is second to Hank's only in my book, excellent.
Regarding the BT, I did make it clear that it is an home processed track i,e Hank removed. Only with the original backing track does this 'Majestic Tune' work, 99.8% of Hank is gone & I am very happy to supply a sample of the track I used should anyone wish to hear it. ;) ;)

Very Best Regards
John

Thanks for clearing that up John, I was about to commission you to do my tracks . . . . ;)

Regarding that Savage track, I reckon we have got it better since then using other stuff, but I don't see the point of posting everything I do, I'm more than satisfied with our results of late with various guitars/pickups/echoes and amps as well as the fabulous Apple Mac / Logic/Main Stage kit that I now use.
You should be satisfied with your sound too, it's damn good.

Hi everybody,
Just for fun I am adding a mock stereo effect version Aka 1977 remix by Bruce minus the Tom's of course.
Comment, don't comment it's entirely up to you.

Hi again John. The version of Wonderful Land I'm refering to on Spotify is the first track in the list that appears when entering 'Wonderful Land' into the search box and it's by a guy called Jono.

I'll be upfront (now there's a first) with you John, When I heard your post it was so clearly done by a serious devotee of Shad music it was unusual not to have had you to the fore on this site which is the defining Shadows site in the world. People on here can tell you what colour Marvin's underpants were when he recorded W/Land.

So where did you come from I asked myself 'cause any guitarist not versed in the mechanics of Shad's music/technique just wouldn't have the know how to replicate so precisely the original apart from that deviation at the late 20 seconds mark which matches your file John with the Spotify version.

Now you musn't think that I imply any critisism John, quite the opposite, If you can give material out like that then I've no doubt that you're very welcome indeed.

Think we've found another Korving here.

Bri
I've checked Spotify and interestingly enough that version by that Jono has mysteriously disappeared. :? :?:
Just in case I've got it wrong, can you check and see if its still there and let me know.
cheers

Very nice John.
Any chance of hearing only the BT ?
If you've removed 99.8% of Hank's guitar then you must possess prodigious equipment.

I'm not happy about doing this at all....I'm doing this in support of Jono--to prove that his post is the same as the one posted on Spotify by John or Jono
