Where did the expression 'pregnant silence' come from ?

I am a delusional plagiariser who has brought shame on himself. My actions are below contempt and consequently I have thrown away any shred of credibility I may have built up over the last 11 years. Nothing in the future will now be believed and my good points will be always rightly suspect.

These actions have betrayed all that is good with the members and it is that betrayal which has caused me to question my motive-at what point would I have stopped?

The mechanics of the posting are not the focal point, nothing excuses plagiarism in whatever method it was performed; it is the deceit which is at the heart of what I feel at this moment.

I see beginners struggling and getting rightful encouragement, these people have more right than I to command respect from the community. I have played guitar since 1963 with the Tremolos (as Robbo can confirm) so I know how guitarists feel about this sort of behaviour.

With this in mind I have no other option than to say I stand rightly accused and consequently I am retiring from the site, a site with such a vast array of players of whom I have betrayed.

I ask the management to close my membership and I leave in disgrace.

Regards

Brian

I don't believe you need to leave the site Brian, you were only kidding yourself at the end of the day and although the track in question was pleasant enough and well played, it was hardly a head turner. With stuff that's happening in the real world around me, in the big picture this nonsense matters very little.
From a moderators point of view, you just need to think before you post, there are folks around here that forage all over the web for instrumental music and this obviously matters to them.
Can we put this to bed now? Thanks.

Brian, that reply must have taken some courage to write. I'm sure many of us have done stupid things in the past which we now cringe to think about. In the light of your honest words I, for one, would urge you to stay - your long and genuine experience is still a valuable commodity which can more than make up for a past mistake.

Brian, to err is human, and it also takes a lot of guts to admit it. There is a lesson to be learned from everything. I don't think your leaving this site would do anyone much good, so let's just get on with our favorite pastime!!

I agree with this entirely - no one wants to see anyone forced out of here...and the honesty shown here is exactly what we need as a community. Musicians should stick together thru' thick and thin. So for me - that draws a thick black line under it all...

I find all this a little "strange" :?

However I'll go with the previous posters and accept Brian's apology as ending the matter

Cheers

I find it strange that anyone would want to make a issue out of what is essentially a piece of library music - Life is too short , believe me.

I have sent Brian an Email to the effect that no one wishes him to leave the site. People make mistakes, I can think of far worse situations than this that go unchallenged - can we move on please|? :)

This looks like a very sensitive way to handle a tricky situation... well done all.

Onward and upward Brian...
