Titanic Theme - My Heart Will Go On

Postby fullerton62strat » Fri Jan 24, 2014 3:24 pm

Haven't posted anything for a while, so I thought I would have a go at this number. A great song by Celine Dion and full of atmosphere it took a couple of weeks to work out a ''not too fusy'' arrangement to my taste. Hope you enjoy it.

Thanks to my friend Phil McGarrick and his son Andrew, for the production of the video and the great sound file.

Cheers, John

My word - that was Good!
So subtly different to Celine Dion's and The Shads, it brought a whole new feeling to the song.
Well played - what else would we expect, John :) and I liked the use of middle pup until towards the end. Made it even smoother.
And Andy did a fine job with the BT too, not overburdened but yet Full.
Nice cam work and mixing from Phil too.
Great effort all round, I'd say.
cheers

Hi Ian, thank you for watching and making such a great comment.

I don't often get chance to record ''new'' material and it is nice to be able to make my own arrangements of numbers that are already out there. I deliberately didn't listen to Hank's version until after I had decided where I wanted to go with it. It is different to Hanks, but I know Hank would play it different again if he covered it live somewhere at a gig. Listening to different variations can sometimes make a number more interesting and I know you, and others on this site, either create new numbers or ad your own 'signature' to a number you are doing, which if course, makes it more interesting and refreshing.

Looking forward hopefully to meet you soon!

Regards,
John

Hi Fred, nice of you to comment. I appreciate that very much.

Ian, thanks for the welcome back - looking forward to the 'close encounters''. It feels like I've been on a trip around the Shads universe in the last year!
