James Bond Medley (Video)

Postby Phil McGarrick » 28 Aug 2014, 22:22

The James Bond Medley came from Hank Marvin’s 2000 CD “Marvin at the Movies”

It consists of :-
The James Bond Theme (Em)
From Russia with Love
You only live twice
On her majesty’s secret service
The James Bond Theme (Reprise) (Fm)

I have recorded covers of all but one track from this great Hank Album
(Hope to do the last one soon)

Recorded using my Alan Brason Stratocaster Alesis quadraverb Q2 eftp patch 0-38 directly into cubase via sound card.
Kinman FV-HMS pickups on bridge position.

Video made with 3x Sony SR12 camcorder’s and edited with the Cubase sound file in Sony Vegas pro 9

The BT came from Marvin Mastertrax which I believe has sold out.
Leo’s Den may be able to source the odd CD if you contact them. http://www.leosden.co.uk/

The Tabs are available from Steve Gibb... http://www.bbigmusic.com/bbigmusic/Guitar_Tabs.html

Hope you like the James Bond Medley.

Cheers Phil

Goodness me, Phil, what a long one!! :o
Nearly 9 minutes long - I couldnt keep up the concentration to play that!!!!!
What a spot on sound too - perfect. Great choice of Q2 patch.
Playing is just SO accurate. Not done an A-B but I'd bet its pretty darned close - as always.
Fantastic job.
cheers

Thank you very much Franklin, Fred, Ian and Dave for those nice comments.

Ian - yes it is a bit long but I recorded 1 song at a time as I learnt each one then joined them together. Lol
The Tabs came in useful too along with the foot operated PDF turner.

Dave - Yes I'm dying to do some more from the new Hank CD but have to wait until son Andrew writes the BT's for me.
Perhaps if I bribed him he may give it more attention. Lol

All the best... Phil

Hi phil ,excellent playing as always, this is a very tricky number and you played it perfectly sound and all.

We have a running joke at the Essex shadows club. Our chairman Trevor Byford does this song once a year at the clubs last meet of the year. We all dread that one

Cheers

Ps. Sorry to hear of your health issue, I wish you well with it

Hi Steve - Thanks for the nice comments and good wishes.
I'm sure Trevor does a good job at your club on this one as long as his memory is good. Lol

All the best.. Phil
