More Zoom MS-70CDR & MS-100BT demos

Postby dave robinson » 09 Mar 2015, 14:52

As promised I managed to quickly record some tracks with this great little pedal (I used my Zoom MS-100 but the MS-70CDR can be programmed exactly the same)
I recorded via the Zoom into my Vox VT-30 directly via the line out into my Focusrite Saffire 26 and into the macbook pro, using Logic 9 software for the recorder - nothing else added eg EQ, reverb etc. This is how it sounds out of the box through an amp. The guitar used was my USA Fender DeLuxe Strat with Fender Noiseless Vintage pickups, it was handy as the others have yet to be unloaded from last night's gig. Not ideal but I'm confident the Zoom MS-100BT more than does it justice. :)

Hi Dave,

Great patches and great demos, thanks. I'm not quite there yet with the programming but getting there slowly.
Those guitars certainly sound different from each other.

Don't they just ? it's a good example of how the new USA DeLuxe Strats' with Vintage Noiseless pickups sound compared to the USA Vintage '62 re-issue, the rest of the gear and the set up is identical on all recordings. The only difference is the DeLuxe Strat has Ernie Ball 9/46 Hybrid strings and the '62 Strat has Ernie Ball 10/46.
Thank you for your kind words. If you need the formula just PM me. :)

I was asked o record Wonderful Land with the old Strat as the USA Deluxe does sound different, so I'll do that sometime today. If there's any other tunes anyone would suggest showing this little box's capabilities please ask. I'm having fun. ;)

Here's Wonderful Land using my original '63 Strat through the Zoom MS-70-CDR and the Vox VT-30. No graphic EQ or any added EQ or reverb - this is how it sounds out of the box. :)

I'm pleased that you are hearing it guys, I couldn't believe it for the price, but all the sounds and editing capabilities are in there, there's nothing missing. You've got the choice of 26 different sounding echo boxes to play with and 29 reverbs, as well as the chorus/flange/vibrato/tremolo etc. The only thing to limit it, is your own imagination, I have listened and compared to the records and it's all in there . By selecting the vintage sounding ones, you can add modulation (wobble) to the echo signals along with tape or wheel degradation. Back when the Alesis was at the forefront this would have been worth thousands of pounds, it is that much better ! :)
