Purchased a Crafter acoustic guitar from a car boot sale for 30 quid, restrung it, cleaned it up and put a Sunrise magnetic pickup in the sound hole, i was curious how it would sound so plugged in the desk and recorded this fingerstyle...

Lovely Rob. Some of these "cheap" guitars sound anything but.

Nicely played. Thanks for posting.

Cheers, Alan.

Thanks alan, i've come to the conclusion that the acoustic sound of the guitar doesn't make a great deal of difference to the plugged in sound. I think 85% of the sound actually comes from the pickup and the strings, i run sound on an acoustic night and find that most guitars of any make cheap or expensive sound very similar with a ust pickup, internal mics make some difference, magnetic pickups have a sound of there own. Of course recording a guitar with mics is a different game. The takamines with the cool tube preamp do seem to be the nicest sounding out all the crop i have worked with.
