FAITHFUL a tribute to Marvin, Welch and Farrar

Postby geronimo7476 » 10 Jan 2010, 21:43

Hi MW&F fans! I'm reposting this recording I did a couple of years ago, as a tribute after reading the wonderful thread 'Thoughts about Marvin, Welch and Farrar' Faithful was, in my mind, the best song on their first album and I just 'had to' learn it! But, vocals? No way!! In the end I was happy to try an instrumental version. You could never capture the perfection that they, MWF achieved with their harmonies, on guitar. They were so close that it was all but impossible to hear what they were doing. I hope you enjoy my version of Faithful

One of my all time favourite songs and you've produced an excellent instrumental version. Nicely done.
Incidentally, the very last few notes were cut short by 4shared - a common problem, so you may need to add on some extra seconds of silence at the end to stop this happening.

Is this your own backing track and is there any chance of obtaining it from you? I'd like to have a stab at this one too.

Cheers,
Martyn

Hi Charles

What a wonderful rendition of a great tune. I loved it as I did your Elvis medley. Great playing and tremendous touch. I enjoyed listening to it. I always have appreciated your consistency in producing such wonderful sound files.

I would also love to know where you got the backing track as I would like to use it myself if that were possible.

Cheers

Another smashing sound file. !!
Really like the sound of the acoustics, great playing, and I think the song makes a really good instrumental.

Great  One of my favourite songs from the most underrated singing group of all time.

Stratpicker played this number "Live at the Hankies" a number of years ago. The BT sounds like the same one. So who made it ???

I remember we were going to do this in Dublin together but never did. Exquisite playing and feel to the playing.
Still as perfect as ever it was.
