Replaying vocal titles is not really my thing, but - inspired by Mike’s interpretation of "Smooth" - I tried another Santana hit.

Excellent work Wolfgang. I agree with you about replaying old vocal numbers, unless a new arrangement and production is made it's not great guitar work just to play an old melody, but at least Santana numbers have enough interest in them to play this way.

Lovely guitar playing,

Thank you guys. I'm not entirely satisfied with the overdrive sound of my Logic Amp simulation. Maybe I'll try a real tube next time.

I have now re-recorded the overdriven Santana guitar (left side) with my old Hughes & Kettner tube preamp. As with many distorting sounds, the difference is small, but to me it feels kind of "juicy" when playing, especially in the highs.
I left the clean guitar on the right side (Logic „British Combo“) unchanged.

Maybe I could record it on my Boogie amp too, but I can only use that when nobody else is in the house.
