A Kiss From a Rose. Video

Postby Phil McGarrick » 06 Mar 2010, 14:44

Another track from this marvelous album "Marvin at the Movies"
And the BT is from Marvin Mastertracks.

I really enjoyed learning this one and used my PRS instead of the Strat for a change.

Hope you like "A -Kiss from a Rose " all comments welcome.

Cheers Phil

Great playing, Phil (love those bendings) and a wonderful sound. Never knew that the PRS suited so well for this kind of music.

Great Phil. Well played as always 8-)
Some questions. I assume you are in the bridge pickup? and can these pickups be split or are they constant double coil? If they can be split, what are you in for that tune?
sounds pretty similar to my Ibanez SA 260 FM.

Phil

This is one of my favourites from "Marvin at the Movies" and sounds excellent when played in you very, very capable hands.

Best Wishes

Many thanks Klass, Hugh, ecca and Tony for your comments.
Much appreciated.

Hugh - the PRS has a 5 position pickup selector switch - and I'm using position 5 which I'm pretty sure is the 2 bridge pickups.
to be perfectly honest I'm not sure how they are wired - I just turn the knob till I find the sound I like. There are some slightly quieter sounds which
is probably as you say where the humbuckers are split.

What I'm finding with humbucker/split coil settings in general is that if the volume control on the guitar is reduced on the relevant pick-ups on humbucking then
the effect is the same as single pole/humbucker switching.

It's all in the ears.
