Sound test: Playing Hank's part in Cliff's "The Young Ones"

Postby abel » 23 May 2010, 01:41

Hi All,

On this video, I am trying to play Hank's part behind Cliff in the original recording of "The Young Ones".
2 weeks ago, I backed up our singer Danny Dean on this one and it seemed to me to be pretty close
to the original Cliff recording.
Although Hank does'nt play all the parts I am playing here, he played the usual ones on other recordings.

Blessings,
Abel

Abel....

You have this wonderful way of really pulling the strings to give that 'bark' like Hank did in the early days. This is as close to the sound of that time as I have heard...

Personally - I would rest the off beat syncopated chords between riffs...although this is probably what you refer to...

Otherwise - totally elegant and accurate.

In my humble opinion anyway.

Best,

Tony.
