FIELDS OF GOLD-HANK VERSION

Postby Stratpicker » 17 Oct 2010, 21:13

Here is last weeks Homework.
I really enjoy most of Hanks later solo work (as well as All his Shads stuff – OK?) and this track from his 'Guitar Man' album would not even have got started by me if it had not been for the superb work by Andy and Phil McGarrick in producing the brilliant BT.
I got the easy bit!!
Brason Strat, Bridge pickup for the main themes and Middle for the middle section (which is meant to be played on an acoustic BUT I just could NOT get the right tone with my Yammy).
My thanks to Senor Bob for his long range help in helping me setting up my borrowed Q2.
Brason Strat-Q2-Korg Ampworks (AC15) with a little added Reverb -PC (Cakewalk). No mods or tweaks.

Cheers
Ian

Smashing job Ian, really well played and the tone is spot on .
The middle section sounded fine on the electric .
Played with a lot of feeling.
All the best -Phil

Hi Ian, just been listening to your sound file of Hank's version of Fields of Gold. Absolutely brilliant, what a fabulous sound and tone, to my ears it sounded spot on.
Bet Hank would have been proud of that one! Ehhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh! ;) Also credit where credit is due the backing track from Andy and Phil McGarrick was also top notch. Wish I could play to that standard, a great sound track to try to emulate. Can I ask Ian, are you using EFTP on your Q2? if you are may I ask which patch you used for the echo effect.
Best Regards
Keith. (MagicOurMorris)
