Hi TVS three team,

excellent series of videos. Very well done. Good sense of fun and reverence. Interesting. I learnt a great deal from your efforts.

Hi Guys,

Another excellent video.

It's nice to have confirmation that one has been doing a lot of things right over the years and also nice to pick up on some of the not so right areas.

I've found that, although the average 'man-in-the-street' would be pleased with a reasonable Shadows sound, the difference is in the player - The happier I am with the authenticity of my sound and playing, the better I play (though I do have moments when guitar and kit has nearly gone through the nearest window!)

Kind regards,

Terry

That was a fun and very educational video. Thank you, Paul, Gary, Spike. As I wrote in the Perth Shadows site (I wish sometimes there were a consolidated Shadows site, as the same people seem to be in all three of the main ones!), you were very unselfish with what you know and made a great effort to share that.

Best,

Andy

Hi Everyone

Glad you enjoyed the video and hope it has been helpful in some way!

Andy:
I too wish their was a consolidated Shadows site but it would be very hard to organise as we have many Shadows sites world wide each with a different language and different website discussion groups....but all have one common factor...CLIFF & THE SHADOWS.

Cheers

Hi Spike

Great series of videos full of info, some old, some new but all useful. By the way, have the TVS3 done any research into what red wine is best for getting that sound? Fiesta Red I guess :D

Hi Roger

Thanks for your comments mate.

YES....I have done the research into the red wine effects and THAT TASTE.
For Studio recording Gary uses a Cab. Merlot whereas Atlantis Paul uses Shiraz mainly. I used a Cab Sav for the tunes I did.
Again it depends on the tune as you have to treat each one differently.
At club nights and live playing it doesnt really matter because no one can really tell the difference and we may just use the Atlantis red for most tunes and of course the Apache red for Apache and Man of Mystery.
Another thing you need to have is a proper glass rack during a session.
I have a six rack glass rack that allows for a glass to be placed a certain distance and height from the player/guitar so that it can be easily reached.

Hope that helps mate!!

Cheers
