Not a sound file - my first 'gig'

Sorry for posting this here but it's because it's a members only section and it almost fits :)

I just wanted to mention that at a party with my former workmates on the weekend I performed for the first time in front of a (very small) audience.
I'd put 11 backing tracks on my MP3 player plugged into the little MicroCube on batteries (no effects except for the amp's delay) but wasn't sure of when I'd bring out the guitar. In the end I played two tracks (beginning with 'A'), 'Atlantis' and 'Apache'.

Towards the end of 'Atlantis' which was the first one as I'd thought it would be easier, I hit a wrong note that threw me out for a few bars but was pleased with 'Apache' as I got through that one without any mistakes (except of course my gallop and beginning still need lots of work) :)

Anyway after learning for just over 18 months it was good experience to give it a go and I didn't really feel any more nervous than playing in front of the webcam.

There's a photo here as evidence :)

Good on you, Rosemary - and well done!!

There's nothing like the kick you get from playing live and in front of an audience. You'll have so much confidence now that there'll be no stopping you!

Hi Rosemary,

Well done!!

You have improved so much since the beginning, and this is another great step forward. It takes a lot of courage to play the guitar in front of an audience, however small.

I have to admit to being a bit jealous that you are starting a group of Shadows players. I think there are only a handful of us in the US and no-one within several hundred miles of me, as far as I am aware. Anyway, I'm sure you'll have great fun.

All the best to you and your family for the approaching holiday season.

James

Nothing like playing in front of any audience to build your confidence. Keep up the good work, Rosemary. ;)
