I just wanted to mention that at a party with my former workmates on the weekend I performed for the first time in front of a (very small) audience.
I'd put 11 backing tracks on my MP3 player plugged into the little MicroCube on batteries (no effects except for the amp's delay) but wasn't sure of when I'd bring out the guitar. In the end I played two tracks (beginning with 'A'), 'Atlantis' and 'Apache'.
Towards the end of 'Atlantis' which was the first one as I'd thought it would be easier, I hit a wrong note that threw me out for a few bars but was pleased with 'Apache' as I got through that one without any mistakes (except of course my gallop and beginning still need lots of work)
Anyway after learning for just over 18 months it was good experience to give it a go and I didn't really feel any more nervous than playing in front of the webcam.
There's a photo here as evidence
