In the Bleak Mid Winter

Whilst rumaging through my tucker bag for Fred Bos' Winter Sonata I came across another collab this time with Pete (North Nots).

We have the gorgeous voice of Annie Haslam warbling away to this production. Again all tracks & vocal were mixed in Acid 4 years ago--P's guitar lead. Good feed back from AH.

Superb version and interpretation of a favourite Christmas-related song.
I'm not familiar with the participating players/singers so could you tell us a little more about how this all came about?

Festive Cheers,

I'd heard Annie Haslam when she sang in Renaissance some years ago and I asked her if she would record the lyrics to Bleak Winter and she did. Orchestration was added and I thought that it could hold a strong guitar line, and it did. Simple as that.

I have somewhere another strong Christmas guitar piece which was aired on here years ago. Look it out.

I quite enjoyed doing the guitar part on that Brian. We'll have to try another one sometime.

It's not often I comment again on a recording but having just played it quite loud on my desktop speakers before heading off for Christmas family visits, I have to repeat how wonderful I think this is.

It's always been a favourite song and I think her voice is so beautiful and appropriate for this, whilst the guitars really complement her and bring the whole production together extremely well without overpowering it.

Thanks for the background information and for posting it. Superb.

Kind regards and hope everyone here has a wonderful Christmas and New Year.

She has a wonderful purity to her voice - perfect for this song....and her diction is beautiful. I could use her on a few of my tracks - would love to record her....!

Seriously - a wonderful soundfile that has finally made me feel like it is Christmas...Thanks for posting it.
