"Sous Le Ciel De Paris" Gypsy style?

Postby abel » 18 Feb 2012, 08:25

Hi all,

This is an attempt at an instrumental version of Edith Piaf's great success.
I tried to play it with a Gypsy / Manouche flavor.
I became frustrated with my Gitano because of busing so I used my Yamaha AEX500NS solid body electric /acoustic.
My right hand still feel numb so you will hear lots of misses and clumsiness.
It really affects the coordination of the right hand and of both hands.
I am due for another steroid epidural to eliminate the numbness as the first one I got 2 weeks ago wasn't
successful.
I used a Midi file as a BT.

Anyway, here it is and I hope you will like some of it:

Dear Abel,

If that's what you call "hits & misses", I just wish my fingers were as "numb".
Very nice arrangement and impressively played.

PS Good luck with the epidurals. I had to have one some years back and know how painful they are

Glad you liked it,

As suggested by a friend from the French website, I should have played more impros
and less of the theme. He was right, but it's such a beautiful song, it feels like a sin
to replace it with an impro.
That's why I based my impro on the "Domino" part.
As the French explained to me, there a 2 songs here:
- "Sous le Ciel de Paris" Edith Piaf
- "Domino" sang by Andre' Claveau.
I found these 2 different Midi files under the same title "Sous le Ciel de Paris": The first one being the original by Edith Piaf
and the 2nd one had the theme of the original and instead of the bridge, it had the "Domino" theme. I really liked both versions,
so I combined them into one.

Blessings,
Abel
