A HEART WILL BREAK TONIGHT

Postby Stratpicker » 24 Jun 2012, 21:13

A beautiful Pierre Teodori tune taken up by The Shadows for their “Simply Shadows” album of 1987. As far as I know, it has never been put up as a Sound File before.
I have a personal video of Pierre playing this at Shadowmania in his own exquisite style and although the track is very much the Shadows version I have tried to capture some of his own phrasing. (except for the Outro which is beyond my aging fingers!!)
Simple kit – Brason Strat (Kinman FVs etc) – Boss CS-3 – Q2 EFTP patch 16 – Korg Ampworks (AC15 setting) to Cakewalk Guitar Pro 2 (an oldie but goodie) Nothing else.
BT was a midi available from Tony Kiek http://www.turningpointcd.com/ which I re-mixed and re-instrumented. (16 tracks in the BT - Oh Boy!)
Cheers

Hi Ian - A superb job both on your playing and your sound.
It's a fine composition from Pierre Teodori to go along side Farewell my Lovely.
I agree I don't think it's been used as a soundfile before. - yours is the first ! :D
The BT is really excellent and thanks so much for sharing it - I know you must have put in a lot of work to get
it to this high standard. I'de love to learn this one some time in the future and I agree about the ending
- must take longer to learn the outro than the rest of the song.!
A very fine achievement
Cheers Phil

Hello Phil
Thanks for the kind comments. The tune itself will come straight to your fingers - its that kind of tune - but the Outro (IF you play it as per the record) will take some learning - but you are good at that!!
Fellow Hankies - not at the Saddlers on Tuesday. Having a wisdom tooth put in at 5.30 (it was going to be 2.30 - tooth hurtee - geddit :?) so not happy boy tomorrow night.
cheers

Hi Ian

Just popped in to see how things are going on the site and came across your soundfile. I like this number and you played it really well as you always do - great sound!

My Strat is still in it's case upstairs where I left it almost a year ago. One day... maybe!

Keep twanging

I haven't heard this for a long time. In fact, I'd forgotten it existed - great to hear it again!

Brilliant playing, timing and that lovely modern Hank sound. Great stuff Ian.
