A special tune with my new Squier 50 Classic Vibe

Postby abel » 16 Jul 2012, 03:42

Hi all,

I hope you are all in good health and spirit.

Today, I felt like recording a tune with my new Squier 50 Classic Vibe.
I used it as is (still fitted with it's 9's string gage).
I used my MXR EQ to beef up the sound a bit.

The tune is my instrumental version of a song by the French singer Enrico Macias: "La France de Mon Enfance".
I bought the BT from a French website.

I hope you like it.

Blessings,
Abel

Hi Abel,

Nicely played. Nice guitar as well and they are also a bargain price.

I do not think it will be long before I am unable to resist buying one. I am undecided between a maple or rosewood neck.

Kindest regards,

think that this reinforces what people are saying about these amazingly inexpensive guitars - I fitted 10/46 on mine and it beefed up the sound without needing a graphic. :)

Check out my recording of 'Wonderful Land' using a similar model guitar fitted with Ernie Ball 10/46

As far as I know, the Squier Classic Vibe '50s only comes with maple neck, it's the '60s model which comes with a rosewood neck.

To add to that Didier, I believe that the rosewood board model is the Simon Neil (Biffy Clyro) Strat - unless Squier have extended their range.
I wasn't aware that there was a red one in this range untilI came across mine on Ebay, though it isn't fiesta red as we know it, it's actually more red and closer to the colour on the Hank Marvin £5000 jobbie that Oasis Music set up..

Great playing, as ever, Abel.

I also love your version of Bistro Fada - it reminds me that we saw "Midnight In Paris" at a cinema in Pasadena last year...

Hi. DaveR knows a lot more about Squier Classic Vibe Strats than I do (and...cool avatar photo, Dave), but below is a link to the Squier C.V. Strats listed on Fender's website. Basically, the Classic Vibe 50's series has the maple fretboard and the Classic Vibe 60's has the rosewood fretboard.

The C.V. 60s series comes in three-tone sunburst with a tortoise shell scratch plate (I have this one), and the other colour is candy apple red with a white scratch plate...both with a rosewood fretboard.

The C.V. 50s series comes in two-tone sunburst with a white (mint green) scratch plate, or in olympic white...both with a maple fretboard. AND...it comes in Fiesta Red with a maple fretboard...but somehow Fender doesn't even list that colour on their website. It's a secret, I guess. :D
