CHEROKEES

Postby Stratpicker » 07 Aug 2012, 21:48

Hi All
Here is my interpretation of Dani Lindroos' most excellent composition “Cherokees”.
BT 100% made in Band In A Box (BIAB)
Guitar is my Brason Strat on its split neck+bridge setting.

Yes!!! Indeed!! You are forgiven for taking so long, I can appreciate why! That was simply just brilliant and not quite what I expected. The beat you chose worked perfectly for the western style and I also like the choice of pickups which gave it a sort of Al Cyola sound!(spelling boo boo here that may get me another knuckle wrapping)
I like that little ditty you did on the end there, maybe you and I could get together and make a tune up out of it, you never know, it might just catch on! Pity the Shadows aren't recording anymore we could try and sell it to them!!

Anyway Ian! we waited patiently for you and you delivered!

Cheers CC

Hi Ian,
That was really good  Love the driving rhythm you created in BIAB.
Great sound and well played right down to the Apache ending.
Loved it... Phil

You've got my unreserved vote on that one Ian !!

The guitar sound and overall impression reminds me of some tracks recorded by the Vibratos. Lead guitar is very Gretsch-like.

Excellent.

Hello Charles, Phil, Ecca and Roger
Thanks for listening and for commenting.
Sorry you thought it a "clonker" Ecca - can't please 'em all I guess.
I like the split neck/bridge selection - it does have that archtoppy sound to it.
I was sad when the Vibratos stopped recording - they used such diverse guitars and the playing and selection of tunes was always amazing.
cheers
