Interesting stuff... yes... Jeff IS the best and the most inventive, though I think he's made not progress for a few years now. (Unlike me... I'm going backwards at an alarming rate - thanks to Arthur)

I'd love you to post the backing track for other members to have a go at, and... share with us the position and technique for using those lower fret harmonics which have such a gut wrenching, emotional impact...

It might sound strange but I read somewhere that with JB's setup, he turns all the tone off on the guitar and all the treble up and bass off on the amp, this is the sound that is on my file but with added reverb.
Picking is with the thumb, flesh part and also nail.

The tremolo block is also cutaway on one side so that the arm will lower more. I forget off hand how many notes are in the bend, up and down but they are precise, so that fully up and fully down achieve a perfect pitched note.

I think another point with JB's guitar setup is the LSR roller nut made of metal and that helps develop the harmonics too. I had heard that JB rolls of all the bass and puts the mids up on his amps and adjusts his guitar tone pot to suit . He usually plays on 11's I believe.

He uses Lexicon Alex reverb and Wah Wah pedals notably the Snarling dogs ones recently and a number other of effects including a Ring Modulator for some tunes. His tremelo on the guitar is the 2 screw type knifedge so he can get great dive bombs witht eh LSR roller nut and stay in tune. Mainly uses Marshall JCM2000 and JTM45 heads and also has used Fender Bassmans and Vox AC30's at times.

Like Hank though observers have said it's all in his hands and skills !
