Tolo - 041204

Postby tolo » 21 Oct 2012, 20:21

Hello friends,

Another original composition from me - this one back in Ecca territory as far as the length goes(!)... Something that started as a piano riff actually and grew from there...

I hope you enjoy 041204,

Best to all,

Tony

Hi Tony
Classically the Tolo Sound and another great adventure in tone, sound, tempo and texture.
Those low freqs come over stunning on my Monitors - really make me buzz. Fabulous!!!
Loved it!
cheers

Hi Tony - Another great composition that needs to be listened to several times to appreciate all that's going on.
I was dying for the drums to come in - then they did,,,, and it built up around 4:09 to a great crescendo.
Just brilliant !.. I was trying to work out why it's called 041204 ? Is that a significant date for you 4th Dec 2004 ?
or am I completely on the wrong track.?

Cheers Phil

Thanks Phil - you are bang on... There are significant dates in all of our lives - for good and not so good reasons - this is my way of recognising one of those days...

Thanks for listening!

Best always,

Tony

A soundfile that is unmistakably from you Tony - expansive in tone and mood with a very sophisticated arrangement.

Super !!

Ecca, Roger....thanks very much. To my ears the mix isn't quite right yet - but I will re-do it at some point...

Glad you were well prepared Ecca.

Best to both,

Tony

Hi Tony
Just an aside. We are on hols in Glastonbury in thr tourer. After a Hate relationship with various tablets inc the IPad, I have just bought a Nexus with mifi "thingy" and have played this again through its titchy little speaker. Still sounds awesome! Tomorrow I,m off to buy some earphones to get all that lovely Bass back.
Cheers
Ian

Thank you sir - I am really gratified that all the time spent on the mix - although not yet final - is worth it... This is where it really shows in fact, away from all of the sophistication of dynamic, full range monitors of a studio and into people's ears via small, sonically challenged devices... The last sanity check I run through is a mix using a mono single cone speaker - followed with a check in the car! If it sounds ok on those - then I am safe...

I was considering buying some of these to do the job properly on though.... They do exactly the same thing....

But maybe I will just stick with my little mp3 extension speaker for now!

Enjoy the countryside my friend!

Tony.
