In Dulci Jubilo Video. Mike Oldfield cover

Postby Phil McGarrick » 08 Dec 2012, 19:47

Happy Christmas to all who read this - Hope this gets you in the Christmas spirit.
Based on Mike Oldfield's version from his 1975 album Ommadawn.
Mike Oldfield's "In Dulci Jubilo" is an instrumental version of the traditional Christmas carol "Good Christian Men Rejoice"

I had fun recording this and making the video.
Hope you like In Dulci Jubilo

All comments welcome.

Cheers Phil

Very nicely played and videoed, Phil, and I love the cosy touch with the fire! Which BT did you use? It's a number I keep promising to do but, as with my other seasonal tunes, the opportunities to include it in the repertoire are limited, making it hard to find the time and will-power to learn to play properly!

Thank you very much Fred, Steve and Noel for your nice comments - very much appreciated. :D

Noel the BT is Mike Oldfield's original recording up to the point where his guitar solo kicks in.(when I change guitars)
Then it's a "loop" from an earlier part of the song with some time stretching to slow it down at the very end.
Needless to say not done by me ! - a little help from my son.

Have a great Christmas ... Cheers Phil

Well if that doesn't get you in the Christmas mood then nothing will !!

Great playing Phil - you certainly got rid of the dust up at the high end of the fretboard on your PRS :D

Hi Phil
Top stuff.
After suffering yet another week minus PC (a different hardware crash this time) it was good to get back to listenin on decent speakers.
A cracking Video. At first I thought it was an advert on Youtube that I'd got by mistake and I was looking for the "skip ad" tag - lol !! Brilliant playing and the sounds are superb. I guess the PRS is on lots of compression and OD to get that sound?
Top Class work by Andy too. FIts the Bill perfectly.
To you, Andy and your joint families - Have a Happy family Christmas and wishing you a successful and healthy New Year.
cheers
