Limited Slip Video. Phil & Andy

Postby Phil McGarrick » 16 Jul 2013, 20:18

Limited Slip was written and played by Hank Marvin for his 1993 solo album “Heartbeat”

A friend in Australia sent me his backing track and I learnt the song a while back but wasn't happy with my ending so I asked my son Andrew if he would play the ending and he made a much better job than me.! Kids !

I played my bit on my Alan Brason Strat using a “Plexi Tone” pedal and EFTP Patch 0-36 on my Alesis Quadraverb Q2.

Andrew used my PRS and a Boss SD-1 & CS-2 pedals and the same echo as me.

Video made using 3x Sony SR12 cam corders and edited in Sony Vegas.

I think it’s a good “Driving” track as long as your car doesn't end up like the one at the end of the video !!

Hope you like “Limited Slip”

Cheers Phil

Excellent version of this tune, which I believe is one of the best from Hank's solo career.

Hi Phil and Andy
I hope you both got a licence off Ecca to expose your knees on camera!! Bakewell will be round later to collect the fees.
This isn't a track I,m familiar with. I had to go and find the CD to see what else I've missed.
Great thick sound and a "hook" that sticks in your mind. Superb playing as always, Phil and Andy makes that Outro look so easy. As you say - "kids!"
the BT is good and strong too. Thanks to whoever took the time and effort to make.
Loved it!
On the basis of this I would love to hear you two play "Into The Light!
Cheers

Thanks Fred and Ian for your replies Very glad you liked it.
Making up for last year's miserable summer with the shorts!

Some great tracks on Hanks solo albums and "Into the light" is a great suggestion if I can persuade a certain someone to make the BT.

The BT for this one came from Ross Dewell and his friend Warren in Hank land Perth Australia I believe.
Had a lot of fun recording this one despite the heat. 8-)

All the best... Phil
