Other people's contact details

Hello fellow Shadows fans

Just a gentle reminder that we all have to avoid causing unintentional problems. It is very tempting on the site to help an enquiry by supplying another person's contact details. Indeed, everyone who does it means well and the person whose details are made known may be perfectly happy about it.

However, we must not assume that. When we publish information about someone without permission, we potentially expose ourselves to legal liability.

To give a personal example, it's OK for you to publish your own phone number, email address etc if you want to. But it's not OK for me to publish your phone no, email address etc.

Best way is to direct people to an existing source (such as a person's website), or contact the person directly, or use the private message system with discretion.
