Most modern browsers and on-line security apps require an https:// protocol connection, which means that you have a secure connection via end to end encryption to that website, this one has not been upgraded to that and that's why the security needs to be turned off for this website. If you are doing things like making on-line payments you should always ensure there is a little padlock at the start of the URL address (which means it's secure), if you click it you should see the certification authority for that website and validation that it's up to date.

With end to end encryption people like your ISP can see that you're connected to that website. but not what pages are visited or information you are providing, but you need to be aware that certain browser extensions can read sensitive information, you need to ensure those come from a trustworthy source.

You also need to be sure that the URL address looks correct with no misspelling or slight changes as it's possible to certify website lookalikes (spoofing).

Some browsers or a browser extensions have a facility to allow specific non https;// sites that you designate as safe, this doesn't require your protection to be universally disabled!
