For posting topics on The General section of the site ,it states "For any discussion about The Shadows, their music, recordings and concerts " this does not seem to be the case. Subjects are put on which have no connection with The Shadows at all eg. The local Heroes etc, also there are too many club announcements which should be posted elsewhere.Recently someone posted a legitimate topic about The Shadows and was shot down in flames for daring to do so.This is not a pure music site there are historical aspects as well which some people might be interested in especialy younger members ,so give everyone a fair crack of the whip.

Hi Derek
What you have said is probably why there are so few debatable subjects posted on this site anything seen
as being outside of what some see as being what they deem acceptable is closed down and locked up with
there own comments added as to why they feel it necessary to do so before anything gets as you say a fair
crack of the whip (nipped in the bud)

You're right, Derek, a number of members do post on the "wrong board". We can't catch them all but, if I spot one when moderating the site, I usually move it to a more suitable place where it's clear what that should be. However, if you use the "View All Topics" option, all postings appear together regardless of their home board.

Anything on the site is fair game as long as it conforms with the site rules set out in the Welcome thread at the top of the "Read Me Before Posting" board. The moderators have to exercise judgement in interpreting those rules and sometimes we may make mistakes - I certainly have - but our aim is never to stifle discussion, just to keep the site peaceful and legal.

The site name is ShadowMusic and that is the intended focus.

A lot of history can be traced using the Search facility (top right). Try it!

Hope this helps - Iain
