I'm sure that the green rust (and red burst) guitars, whether Marvin, Double Six or bass version of the Double Six, were all fitted with black, gloss-finish scratch plates. Some examples of the white Marvin (and perhaps the Shadows Bass) were fitted with grey shell scratch plates as an alternative to brown/red shell finish. The same material was used on white examples of the Bison models, post-1964.
