Here are earth wire holes . The dig you see is probably where the drill hit the body? The hole in the tremolo corner is the hole. Incidentally I shielded my guitars and connected that earth wire to it. Seems to work well

Here are a couple of projects I am working on. I normally only refinish when there is severe damage or they have been stripped bac. I love keeping these alive.
Regarding the tremolo arm I think it would be a shame not to keep it in line with your nice restoration. You will still see what is left of the name as the coating is very thin. They cost about £25,to get done. Problem is they are quoting 12-15 weeks. If you are in no hurry could get my son in law to do it along with stuff he is doing for me. But won't get it back until September as I will be away in Spain. Let me know

Looks really nice James, your mate got that colour really close. Hard to get that semi see through lacquer just right.
Looking forward to seeing this project finished.

Oh by the way, the pots on my Burns sonics and other vintage guitars do the same thing - you have to turn them back slightly to get the optimum volume/ tone. I think it's just down to the age of the electrical parts.
Where did you get the headstock badge from?..I need one!.
