Burns Apache shipment to Australia

Postby tonykiek » Mon Sep 21, 2009 10:21 am

The Burns Apache guitar that Barry Gibson sent up to us in Cambridge last year for Baz to use on our UK tour has finally arrived safe & sound in Australia.

The reason I'm posting this message is to say that the shipping service I used was absolutley fantastic - Fast Lane Couriers Internationl (UK) - they picked it up by courier from my son's place in Cambridge, and arranged airfreight with DHL whose courier delivered to my home address here in Sydney today. No customs clearance or duty, no quarantine, no red tape, just like sending a letter. It took only 4 days to get here since I filled in the FLCI on-line shipping request.

Although weighing only 8.5kg, the heavily wrapped/padded package was "volume weighted" at 13.5kg but cost only GBP91.00 door to door. I am blown away with this price, as, for example, Excess Baggage Co. quoted me over GBP200.00 and I had other quotes that were even more expensive.

If this sounds like an advert for Fast Lane Couriers Internationl (UK) then you bet it is !!

Now if they'd ship people at the same rate, I'd come and see you!!

I hesitate to ask how much you weigh David.

G'day Tony,
Nice work to get it in without customs attacking it. Anytime I have brought an axe in over the value of $1000 I have been hammered with fees. :?
:?
