Spotted this in our local evening paper. Someone still using an early Burns in 1967...

What do you mean 'still' ? I was 'still' using my Artist for gigs up to about 1983 when I caught my foot in the strap while the guitar was standing on stage at the Swanley Social Club and the neck cracked. Although it was given a marvelous repair, I started using the Shergold Modulator and decided that the Artist should be 'retired' from regular gig work (and by then I'd got used to a 'normal' neck).

If the pic is from 1967 then the guitar would only have been six or seven years old. Mind you, after the Beano album everyone wanted a Les Paul like Eric Clapton so the Artist range would certainly have been seen as 'old hat'.
