BURNS 40th MARVIN ?

Info on how many Burns 40th Anniversary Marvin Guitars where made be for Burns did the Modification to the Neck Pocket on the Guitar Bodie and up to what ? Serial No please.

Mine also has an original neck pocket - serial number 0388

I think the serial numbers were allocated randomly so there would not be any correlation between manufacture/issue and number. I’m sure more than 97 were sent out before I got mine.

I bought two at the time no 61 and 62,(gave no 61 to a friend)...both guitars have the vintage correct neckpocket :D
The change on the neck pocket ,puzzled me...... Barry Gibson decided that after a few complaints from some owners about "cracked" paint :roll:
News flash for all the sissy's ;) .... an original vintage Burns Marvin has the crack also...so how about, going all the way to have it vintage correct :mrgreen:
A Burns Marvin with a strat like neck outfit, doesn't rattle my cage :( So when i phoned Barry to ask if i could order a greenburst 40th anniversary, he told me that they all have the strat neckpocket :evil:
So i ask Barry to build me a British made Marvin in greenburst , just for the color :mrgreen: because I already had 3 Marvins in white ( 65 original-1980 and the 40th)all of them have now the correct minor crack in the neckpocket 8-) so the ones with the correct neckpocket are a chip of the old block ;)

Mine's 0615 and it has the neck pocket.

I have Ser No 0175 with neck pocket - and the crack!....The strat type mod certainly has no appeal to me either. :(

Thank you all for the info back . Seen one for sale for £799 at a local Guitar shop with the Original Neck Pocket No 1946 .
Thought the Ser No 1946 was bit high for the Original pocket .

Likewise No 63 has the vintage neckpocket and paint crack

Mine has also the original neckpocket with no crack and the serial number is: 0195
