Hi Reg,
My 40th Anniversary Marvin is s/n 1946 and does indeed have the original style neck pocket. I specified this feature and that particular number from Barry Gibson, as it's my year of birth. I'm intrigued to know which shop has the guitar up for sale at £799?

Hi All . Not an expert on Burns but i do know these great guitars simply were`nt made in numerical sequence . The number were put on after import to the uk . As the box was opened so the number was attached so it might prove difficult to pinpoint the exact guitar . I`ve had both and loved em both . The neck pocket was just a "nostalgic " thing . They certainly play and feel as good as they should . No different . I`m on my third one now as selling them made me feel lost so i replaced very quick !. lol. Hope this helps . Take care all . Ron
