Dave Robinson, your positive comments were indeed the reason that I tried and purchased
a Boss Katana. ( 100 watt single speaker ).
Like you, I selected the clean channel, fiddled, set the sound I wanted and messed no more.
Both Ross Hall's patches through the Zoom G3x and The Hall and Collins sound equally splendid.

Cheers, Alan.
To know and have known the love of a little dog is a truly wonderful thing.

I was in Gear4Music trying out an amp by Mark Bass when some customer approached me and pointed out the Katana, asking if I had heard it, as he said it was worth auditioning. I decided to check it out and was amazed, buying the small 50w version then going for the big 2 x 12. I had both for a while, but although intending to use the small one for small gigs, I just stuck to the 2 x12 and later sold the small one. It’s lightness was the attraction. :)

You could buy a tremolo pedal, but I use the one that's built into the amp. ;)

I may ditch the Katana now and use my Fender Rumble 100 V3, which is the next best thing, with my Helix.
I can lift it with one finger, :)
I used it at The Dome in Doncaster last night, 2000 capacity, it did the job. Nobody was more surprised than I.
But when you think about it, all the blues players loved the old Fender Bassman. The jazzers are already on to the Rumble, as Fender don't make an ultra light amp for the guitarist.

I just plugged the echo box straight into it and used the clean channel, getting the desired tone in a heartbeat.
Why does it have to be complicated ? :|

It doesn't... the point, however, is that it is possible to get the Katana to do so much more by using the free Tone Studio.

I think I mentioned earlier it doesn't have a built in tremolo-or is not apparent in photos. .I guess a tremolo pedal would be th easiest option. something to switch on and off..tremolo doesn't feature in a lot of modern guitar playing

My Boss Katana has tremolo, and it’s easy to use!

Did you not understand, there is a tremolo built into the Katana.
