hi all
i finally took the plunge and changed out the stock pickups on my sx strat which i bought nearly a year ago...my nerve were on edge this has bee a first for me...decided to take the safe approach and de solder one at a time.. neck first and so on much huffing and the odd curse we got there but it was worth it compared to the stock ceramics its night and day...when the ceramics were on the guitar the middle pickup was always a bit more powerfull than the rest and to be honest changing to the neck position was pretty weak...now you can hear difference as you should and the fender quack is there... as for shads sound well thats as good as i would expect about 95percent considering the were £42 quid for the set money well spent very happy with result definately recommened them...just thought id pass it on... by the way these are IRONSTONE GOLDS

I put a set of Ironstone Golds in my first Strat about five years ago, yes they are good, and excellent value.
