"There are 2 open orders in the system, but I do not have any insight into the production schedules of the Custom Shop, as these are confidential."
Then speak to someone that does!!! And after that tell me because as sure as God made little apples SOMEBODY KNOWS.
This "I know but I'm not telling you" attitude is the nonsense that loses business whatever trade you happen to be involved with.
I have had reason to deal with Fender direct twice. Six years ago when I bought my CS 1956 NOS I had a small problem that was dealt with in a most
professional and prompt fashion. The first time was some thirty years ago when I needed a left handed tremolo arm due to the fact that the USA standard
Strat. I'd bought from a student person in Cambridge was supplied with a right handed one.
After contacting numerous dealers in this country and having no success, I telephoned Fender Customer Service and explained the problem to a man called Charlie Davies.
I asked him for a part number so I could buy one from Fender. Charlie's response was, "Alan, why don't I just send you one"? And send me one he did.
And that, is customer service.
One of the many things I learned during my years in sales / customer service was, you have to deal with somebody who gives a s**t. Because brother if they don't you are
spitting in the wind.
My opening gambit could easily be solved. This, however would involve making a decision. Making a decision could involve making a mistake. So, keep the botty nice and
covered up. After all it's only a customer, how important can he be?
To know and have known the love of a little dog is a truly wonderful thing.
