Acoustic Modellers

Please, can anyone recommend an acoustic modeller that can produce an acceptable acoustic rhythm sound.
Cheers,

Hi John,
Being the 'Rhythm' mainly, in my band, although I do play four or five Shads melodies. I was always keen on getting a decent Rhythm sound inc. an acoustic one. I do have an electro-acoustic guitar & a Laney acoustic amp, but in order to carry less gear to a gig, & for simple convenience of quick changeover while playing live, I use a Zoom G2 modelling pedal.
I generally use a Strat guitar & for Rhythm I use either the Middle pickup, or the Middle & Bridge together. The beauty of the G2 is that it is inexpensive, so I can carry a spare too. It is also very easy to use, providing you read the short manual, & very versatile. I have set up several patches which cover the various sounds I need, inc. the excellent acoustic simulation patch. I did adjust the parameters of that patch to suit myself, as I thought it could be improved on, but that's down to my individual taste. It really does sound like a crisp, jangly acoustic. The acoustic sim module on the G2 is one of the best available in my humble opinion, & really does contrast & sit well in the mix with a fat Lead guitar sound. My G2 gets plugged directly into a channel of our PA system & I therefore don't need to carry a conventional backline guitar amp, & I hear it through the wedge monitors. With just a pedal through the patches I can instantly change to a 'Lead' patch when I need to play a Shads melody, which I have also set up & adjusted the parameters to suit, with all the appropriate echos etc. You can set up some excellent Multi-tap echoes on the Zoom, as there are three different modules containing echoes, which can be set up to layer one on top of another. Highly recomended.
Regards, Tony.

hi, i must agree with tony, the G2 is a great value sound especially in the acoustic section. a few tweaks here & there & you`re sorted. I`ve used mine straight into a p.a. & thru my ac30 with good results. cheers, steve.

I don't recall what make or model it was (it ws yellow, I think), but the acoustic modeller stomp-box used by Justin Daish at Pipeline and at Tilburg this last month sounded superb...

What was it, Justin?

Just spotted this thread. Thanks for the compliment, Jim. To answer your question, I use a Boss AC-3 for my acoustic simulation. I change my playing style quite heavily when using the pedal to get the most from the effect and to make it sound as authentic as possible, and I had to spend some time deciding which settings suited my guitar, but it is very effective and I have been pleasd with the results so far.

HTH...

Gentlemen,
Thank you all for your 'input'. Much appreciated.
Justin, like Jim. I was most impressed by your acoustic sound on the Youtube clips
and that was really what prompted my initial request for information.
Cheers,
JB
