condoms sounds a good idea, you could probably get coloured ones to match your guitar. Are they still 3s 9p a packet? ;)

You could always use Jam, not only will it stick but would lend a whole new meaning to guitar licks. :D

If you don't bother fixing the stand and the guitar falls off and gets scratched or dented etc, you could always sell it at a profit as 'reliced' 'road worn' custom shop exclusive model...

That's true Dode.

Never mind, maybe you could take some of your ties round to The Barras. Or better still, put some of them up for sale on eBay at slightly inflated prices. There must be at least one that a member of The Shadows has seen (or at least been worn when they were in the vicinity) which you could really inflate the price of for special interest sake. It would be even better if they had touched it and made a comment like "Wow! Love the tie!" or "What on earth have you got round your neck?"

Well, I tried the campers rubber bands sugested by Roger B, but alas they are too short and not stretchy enough ( no sniggering at the back, there...) However, two, held together with a cable tie are just about right, and will do for the moment. The search goes on...

I was tidying up the other day and found a Hoopla Game hoop which was made out of a similar material to my guitar stand fastener
It was also stretchy so would probably do in an emergency

Just a thought

George

Surely two can be looped together like two rubber bands, without the need for an intermediary connection, George?
