Tenor guitars

Just a recent discovery in the context of the extraordinary proliferation of the tenor guitar in its various forms, particularly as it is not an instrument commonly seen these days - at least, not by me...

I think they were originally intended for transition for players from banjo to guitar (around 1930's) and were also used for jazz, country and folk music over the years, often played alongside regular guitars...they can be tuned like a plectrum banjo (CGDA or CGBD) or like a regular guitar-DGBE, or with the higher tenor guitar tuning GCEA

There are some young players currently using these instruments for Americana/folk/blues etc..
