Hi Dave,Sometime back you put some settings for this amp on the site, I can't find it, but do remember you mentioned the top/cut switch, does this switch work on both channel 1 and 2, regards Keith (I am looking for The Shads early sound)

HI Keith,

Yes the top cut control works on both channels, as in the original
1960's AC15.

I would say for early stuff, EF86 channel, pentode mode, brilliance
switch to number 2 and roll off the top if required using the cut control.

Don't overdrive the EF86 with the echo unit or it will distort due to the
lower clean headroom of the EF86 Channel.

For later Shads stuff it's the top boost channel, but I can't remember
the treble and bass settings, but you will find the treble and bass controls
interact due to the way the tone circuit is arranged (A quirk of the original top boost amps!)

Are you coming next Tuesday Keith?

If so bring it and we'll have a tweak!

I'll bring my Q20 with Charlie's updated patches in.

Regards

Amanda

Oh no he dosn't (Panto Time  )

The Top Boost settings are often with the bass cranked fairly high around 4-5 O'clock and the treble around 2 O'clock depending on tune and venue for a lot of stuff... if you use the Magic stomp Keith put it on the lower output on the switch at the back and adjust the output knob between 12 O'clock upwards

The top cut also depends on the tunes and I hover between 0- halfway typically around 1/4 or so depending on PU and tune thats 9 O'Clock looking from the front of the amp.

Hope to be there for the first meeting of 2010 so long as I have gotten over the Swine flu ... sniff

Happy New Year till then pals

For ultimate Burns sounds, Bass full up on Top Boost channel, and Treble to where it begins to bit and sound nasal...
