Has anyone bought the Fender Professional Stratocaster yet? I've looked on You Tube for the demos.
They are fine if you play Thrash, Zed Zed Top or Punk. Any comments please?

Cheers, Alan.

I used to use an American Standard to play Shadows music, and it sounded perfect. Indeed I have a friend who still uses one; absolutely nothing wrong with his sound.

So I'm sure the new Professional will be just as good. And it comes in some really cool colours.

(Sorry, colors.)

Thanks Steve, I have a Custom Shop NOS 1956 with Fat 50's pickups and a 50th anniversary with Custom Shop 54 pickups.

The Fat 50's ( In my opinion ) have the edge on the old stuff. However, I love the sound of the Custom Shop 54's on other
material / later Shadows tunes.

I'm looking for anybody's opinion on the Professional Stratocaster in order to make an informed decision on a purchase.

The feedback from a couple of sources, so far has been very encouraging.

Cheers, Alan.

Hi Alan,
I had one of these in Sienna Sunburst a while ago and it was a very nice guitar no question, however, if you are a Shadows purist you may not find the two point trem system sounding exactly like the vintage style. I could tell the one I had was a marginally different sound.
Regards Tony

Thanks Tony all comments appreciated. I have to say I'd not given a thought to the two point tremolo thing before.
The only observation I might make is that, ( for me ), the standard Strat two point bridge is easier for palm muting.
Cheers, Alan.

Hi Alan,
I can’t comment on the sound of the professional strat, by I see that it has the pop in Trem arm which is also fitted to the Elite Strat which I have. I have to say that the pop in is a vast improvement on the screw in type, so much more stable.
Obviously I would suggest trying one to check out the sound but as far as the trem is concerned I think that it a great improvement.
Hope this helps
Take care

Thanks Peter. I feel a test drive coming on.
Now then, who has left handed ones in stock?
That should knock the colour options about a bit.

Cheers, Alan.

Had a look at one of these in Richtone, nothing remarkable really, nice enough to play but not for me, I'm not fussed about the colours. These days I'm a lover of sunburst and natural see through colours.
That said I ordered the FSR '56 in Fiesta Red with gold parts and tweed case, but they buggered up the delivery date as it should have been here early November but was put back to February. I was about to cancel and was informed that it will be here on December 13, so I'll go with it for now. If I don't like it I'll send it back for a refund. Thing is, I don't need another Strat, but I sold a US Vintage Re-issue and feel that it needs replacing. . . . That's my excuse anyway. :)
