I've recently been recording a new Shadows-type instrumental I've written, and today I got to the interesting part - adding the lead guitar!
I'm using a POD 2.0, placed between my Hall & Collins echo and the mixing desk, and it occurred to me that other POD owners might be interested in what settings I used to obtain 'that' sound. So here they are:
(Imagine the knobs as clock faces)
OUTPUT: Left
A.I.R. MODE: Direct
AMP MODEL: Brit Class A
OUTPUT LEVEL: to taste, mine's on 9 to match the input of the multitrack
DRIVE: 3
BASS: 12
MiDDLE: 3
TREBLE: 2
CHANNEL VOLUME: 1
REVERB: to taste (mine's between 9 and 12)
EFFECT: Compressor
EFFECT TWEAK: 12
Let me know what you think of those, or if you have any ideas to improve them!

A bit late with a replay, by about 3 years, but these are the settings I'm using with my Pod XT connected to my Hall & Collins. Pickups used are Fender 57/62s. I'm using the Pod solely for amp simulation.
Amp-A30 Fawn ( 1969 AC30, apparently)
Output 5
Drive 1.5
Bass 5.5
Middle 6.5
Treble 5
Presence 6
Chan.vol. 5
Reverb 3
No other effect apart from the Hall & Collins of course.
Hope this helps.
Cheers,
Mike

After all this time, I just looked at my settings and realised I'd got two of them completely wrong! (Blame my awful typing.)
Should have been Output Level on 3 and Drive on 9.
