Being an OAP these days, I only buy a new guitar if I can pay for it from the proceeds of the next one or two gigs...

Yep, interesting, I bought my Burns Baldwin Virginian half price
from Tower Music in Blackpool, brilliant guitar, still got it now, it's like an old pal

I have a Grant LP copy; I always thought it was a nice guitar but didn't realise it may have come from one if the better Japanese factories. I didn't like the pickups so fitted a pair of cheap Mighty Mites which are good for making a noise, but fairly muddy and very hard to get any sort of a clean sound from. Having read this I'm going to refit the old pickups and see if I can find anything about it by the serial number, which I'm sure I remember seeing on it somewhere.
