Boss Katana / Mac Catalina 10-15

Postby Gruntfuttock » 29 Oct 2019, 15:21

Hi Folks! I have a Boss Katana 100W Head Amp. I also have a Mac which I recently updated to the Catalina 10-15 MOS. This evening when I attempted to connect the Katana to the Tone Studio on my computer something was wrong! I could not connect. It seems as though the Katana will not work with the new MOS Catalina 10-15.

I've looked for updated Drivers, but haven't been able to find any.

Does anyone have any thoughts or suggestions - (apart from changing to Microsoft!!)

All help and advice greatly appreciated as always!!

Many thank Dave

Hi Dave

Seen a few things with the new Catalina upgrade and things not working. Would suggest rolling back to previous system for time being?

I don’t know if this is the reason but Catalina is the first Mac OS that will only run 64-bit programs. Maybe the Katana software is 32-bit?

Even if it’s for another reason, rolling back to Mojave should sort it. In due course current 32-bit apps should be updated to 64-bit.

I suggest you raise a complaint with both Apple and Boss!

Panic over! Roland have released a new driver - so all is Working well!
I’m not a computer Fundi so I become quite stressed when I don’t know the solution to a computer problem.

Thank you. Luckily I didn't install Catalina yet. And I do not intend to do that anytime soon.

My rule of thumb with anything new in the computer world is to hold back and see what braver souls are reporting! There’s usually a refinement or two issued to deal with teething troubles.
