Behringer Vertulizer Pro

Postby Sothall Mike » Fri Jan 31, 2020 10:07 am

Hi everyone, just wondering if anyone can remember an old Advert for the Virtulizer Pro with included Shadows patches - referring to it as "like having Hank in a Box". When I first started playing shadows music - before I started the South Yorks Club, money was tight and I could not afford a quad GT, I saw this advert for the Virtulizer with Shadows patches included. For me that was a more affordable way into the sounds we all love. Does anyone remember this advert ? and who was responsible for the Patches in the first place. thoughts and views welcome.

Regards

I saw one advertised on Facebook Marketplace just a couple of weeks ago. It was in a rack case with another unit and quite cheap too. On doing a google search, there seems to be 2 different versions of the ‘pro’ version.

I believe it was a gentle man call Geoff (who's surname escapes me) who also had patches for the zoom 508 and a website called Sound Like Shadows. I had the 508, and at the time an Alesis unit was a dream. I always wondered what those units were like. I would guess something like the zoom RFX.

Thanks

Maybe it was Geoff Strachan. If so, I think he’s a member here.

Ian

I dont think it was Geoff Strachan, I rather think it was a guy who also proposed patches for the TC Electronic D-Two, but his demos were not convincing at all.

I can remember that vaguely...

Wasn't it advert by a bloke called Guy Boddart (spelling not sure) from Belgium origin?
D-TWO APACHE V.S.E.E. with a Behringer Ultra Gain Pro and a D-Two from TC Electronic?
It was advert with Hank in a box sound, but not cheap....

Behringer Virtulizer Pro, I know 2 versions the DSP1000P and a DSP2024P....
Can't remember if it was advert with shad patches....

One unit that springs in mind, that looked the same was a Zoom RFX2200 with EFTP patches and of course dozen's with "counterfeit" patches or self-made ones....

Cheers Rob

This is Guy Bodart’s D-Two setup.

Yes, I remember it now, it was Guy Bodart. I had to ban him from the french Shadows' forum because of improper behaviour !

Wasn't Guy Bodart the same person that was pirating Charlie Halls Shadows patches?

Yes, I think you’re really right Baz.
Also, I seem to remember a chap called Dave Bliss who was doing patches for various units.
