I'm enjoying very much your sonic experiments with all these different recordings. How about trying Man of mystery and The frightened city?

Yes that would be no problem, but the echo pattern is the same, it's the one used for Apache but with trails.

eh wrong there Dave, apache is not the same type of echo as man of mystery or the frightened city,

According to Charlie Hall it is, but without the trails, but thank you for breaking your neck to jump in and let us know how clever you are -

Here are a couple of our own compositions using the Strymon Volante, using the Binson heads 3/4 as on the original recordings I made fifteen years ago.
The difference is that I went straight into the desk using a newly acquired wireless system by Muslady, which may have added a bit of something by way of compression/tone.
I like the Strymon Volante a lot, because of it's it's old school controls mostly, but it isn't better sounding than the H & C or Blue Nebula in a mix, though I do hear something magical when playing without any other noise contamination. :)

Hi Dave
Sounds great, a lot of size to the sound, and you hear a slight compression.
It really is interesting, because it is one one pedal, no comp, no reverb, but still a beautiful Halo.
Somebody will properly think, to much of this and that og not exactly like a old echo, but never you mind-its cool

Hi Niels, there is a slight touch of reverb from the Strymon but the compression may be from the wireless 'Airbridge' that I used by MusLady, a new system that I'm trying for on stage use. The more I play with this Strymon Volante it just gets more interesting and I nearly overlooked it because of the two guys who were reviewing echo machines on Youtube for Andertons. Had I taken their opinion on board I would have dismissed it. :|

Just thought it worth mentioning that I get to use the Strymon Volante Live tonight and I'm looking forward to it. I know that Wonderful Land, Kon Tiki, The Savage et al are allegedly the same pattern according to EFTPs patches, but I find by using the tap tempo to get the echo speed in line with the tune does make a pleasing difference, something that until now I hadn't tried.
Also, the way that Volante let's you set the heads in triplets is very useful for numbers such as Sleepwalk, Cosy, Albatross and Last date and similar. I intend to try it in a live situation and I've a feeling it will work, but whether it's right or not is another matter. ;)

I used my Volante at the Hankies last year and everyone thought it sounded very good.
