I sent my first seven Shadows patches to Bob Timmins via email.

Do I take it that this same software works with the Zoom G3Xn ? :)

I myself don't bother with the Roland Space Echo RE201 / RE301 patches, but does anybody else ?
The reason I ask is because I'll include some amongst mine if they are needed.
Bear in mind, the Roland was only used in the absence of the Meazzi & Binson. I never heard him with a decent sound using one.

Thanks Dave
I'll check them out in the morning
I was also going to ask if you had got the correct tonelib programme but Ian beat me to it.

If you open tonelib when not connected to pedal it gives a compatibility list on right hand side

That's useful to know. They don't list the G3X on the list of compatible devices on the web site, so I've always assumed it wouldn't work. I'll download it in the morning and give it a try. Thanks for the info. :)

Hi Cliff, I'm just getting my head around it and the G3 & G3X use the Zoom Edit & Share platform, whilst the G1Xon, G3X, G3Xn, G1 Four and MS-50 all use Zoom Tonelib as well as a few others. :)

Hi,
I can buy a secondhand Zoom G3XN for the same price as a new Zoom G1X Four. Which would be the better buy?
Thanks

Aahh yes!! I hadn't noticed the "N". A subtle, but important detail as it's a different machine to the G3X. They don't make it easy with their product names :D

I don't know much about the G1x Four but I do have the G3Xn and it is excellent and possibly better value that it's smaller cousin.

The G3Xn is a more capable unit than the G1Xfour,you can use 7 effects at once instead of 5 with the G1Xfour and you can store 75 patches with the G3Xn and 50 with the g1Xfour. Both units let you delete or add effects to the units Memory as the entire list of effects is more than the chip can hold so you can shape the effects list to suit the sound you are after and ditch all the Heavy Metal and Thrash etc effects. I prefer Tonelib Zoom to Guitar Lab for making/editing patches as I find it much more user friendly.
Hope this helps.
Cheers Phil.
