Refining That Sound

I think by now it's generally accepted that if you want to really nail "that sound" as closely as possible, you really need to invest in the right gear (Vox; TVS3 etc). However, to get the very best out of an expensive setup, should we be be adding one (or more!) of these into the setup? https://www.futureshop.co.uk/quantum-science-audio-red-black-high-end-uk-13a-fuse.

I'm going to go out on a limb here and say "no"

Just make sure you install them correctly - I notice they have an arrow on them, so presumably they won't work if installed the wrong way 'round :D

Still, at least now I finally know the real reason why I don't sound like Hank when I play :)

Cliff

Edit - Just read the following on the add: "Please note: fuses are directional, so please ensure you install your fuse accordingly. If you are not sure on the correct direction, simply try it both ways- you will be able to hear the difference."

Which amplifier requires a 13 amp fuse?

It would have to be drawing up to just under 3Kw!

OK, 1.5 Kw in unstressed mode.

My AC30 (all valve) only draws 125 watts.

Was that ad posted on 1st April?

It gets worse. It seems you can also buy an aftermarket mains lead for, wait for it.........£ 17,070.00 . https://www.futureshop.co.uk/nordost-odin-2-uk-mains-power-cable. Mind you, that's for the short lead. Longer ones are available at a (much!) higher price. All of a sudden, that fuse doesn't seem so expensive :o
