Weird Feedback issue

Postby artyman » Sat Aug 20, 2022 4:35 pm

Played a small gig yesterday using my usual setup Strat into my Katan 50 on 25W setting with volume around 9 o'clock, I was getting a whistling sound which I couldn't fathom as we weren't using any mics. I'm baffled anyone have any suggestions

Did the venue have a deaf aid loop system, which had been left on? Jim Nugent will remember when The Secrets played the Royal Victoria hall in Southboough (near Tunbridge Wells) and we had that problem.

The guitar pickups pick up the loop signal and feedback occurs. Solution?. Get that ******* system turned off!

I agree, I had exactly the same problem when playing at Seaton Town hall.

Nobody at the venue knew how to turn it off but luckily I had a second guitar with humbuckers and that solved the problem
